May 31th, 2010. The new CD "The Two Last Great Sonatas For Piano" of Alberto Cobo
was presented with success in the Arts Center Nicolas Salmerón from
Madrid. In the recital, that included a grand piano Steinway gave up by
HAZEN and transported exclusively for this event, Alberto Cobo offered,
after an hour without pause, 3 tips of Chopin to commemorate the
bicentenary of his birth.

July 22th, 2009. The piano recital with the Stravinsky and Rachmaninov's sonatas in "San Lorenzo de El Escorial - Spain" was full - usually we should say "sold out" - and was received widespread applause during
the concert and at the end. Alberto Cobo offered a tip on which many
people asked what melody was that so beautiful: an arrangement for piano
of the XXIII variation of the Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninoff - the most known tune of the composer-. Between the numerous congratulations he got that of the councilman of culture, José Antonio Vara.

Biography
The
pianist and composer from Madrid, Alberto Cobo continues to captivate on the international stage
dating back to the year 2000 through his many piano recordings ( for example www.superopera.com )
and concerts with orchestras and live recitals. His piano expertise always gives his audiences a wonderful and
an intimate experience inside the setting of "a full house". He has received congratulations and praises
from many venues around the world, in despite of the fact that he is not
considered a “major” musician.
Alberto’s
teachers have included Carmen Requena, Antonio Carreras, María Teresa Fúster,
Anselmo de la Campa, Manuel Carra and finally Isidro Barrio. He
furthered studied virtuosity under the advice of Heliza Hansen and Rosalyn
Türeck.
Inside his field of music, he attained all the
educational points. He earned the
status of Professor of Music with a specialty in piano from the Madrid Royal
Conservatory of Music. He also worked
as a musicologist investigator with critics’ international editions, and
as a composer.
Cobo recorded on Classical Radio of RNE (Spain),
productions and on collaborations with German radio stations such as
Süddeutsche (Karlsruhe) and Bayerische Rundfunk (München), as well as on
diverse record labels like Universal Classics & Jazz, a division of
Universal Music GMBH, KOCH International, Das Beste von Reader' s Digest, Bella
Musica/Antes, Dial inc., etc.
In
addition to his performances with classical music, he has always enjoyed great
public expectations to fill the concert halls.
One is reminded of his last performance as a soloist with the Symphony
Orchestra of Polish National Radio in Warsaw with placards covering the city.
His activities also include musicology and composition in critical editions
published by the ICCMU, two operatic discoveries of importance and related to
Spanish history, several collections of albums/CD’s, and scores or books both
of his own compositions, and works by
other composers.
